Mr. M. B. McIntosh went to Elgin Monday to help move his son, Wayland, to Chicago.

Mrs. W. Simonds and children, of Battle Creek, Mich., visited her mother, Mrs. Colburn, last week.

C. C. Flint returned home Tuesday, after a weeks visit with his parents at Albany, Wis.

Mr. A. B. Smith, General Manager of the Metropolitan Accident Association of Chicago, spent Tuesday with M. T. Lamey.

I. M. Mallory, editor of the Nunda Herald, and several others from Nunda, attended the installation services Wednesday evening.

Miss Maude Otis was accepted as a candidate for baptism at the Baptist Church last Sunday evening, and will be immersed at next Sabbath.

A surprise party was tendered Miss Emma Laudwer at her home Wednesday evening by the young people. A pleasant time was had by those that attended.

The Barrington Bank was closed Wednesday to make the transfer from the present management to the new, which consist of some of our most prominent citizens.

The Barrington Germania Band met its death last Saturday evening; however there is to be another band organized at once which will consist of about 10 or 12 of the old members.

Mrs. August Pahlke died on Tuesday morning. She has been sick a long time, and has suffered greatly. Funeral services were held Thursday forenoon from the German Church.

Mrs. H. A. Harnden invited her class, which numbers about 25, to spend the last evening of the old year with her at her home. Refreshments were served and a pleasant time reported.

There was a small gathering at the residence of Miss Laura Wilmer Thursday evening of last week, in honor of Miss Cora Jayne of Oak Park. A most enjoyable evening was spent by those present.

M. Domenowske tendered his resignation as School Director in District No. 8 because the other directors would not visit the school. It has taken good effect as two of the present directors visited the school this winter.

The G. A. R. Post, No. 275, W. R. C., No. 85 and S. of V. held the Public Installation of officers Wednesday evening. E. R. Clark was the installing officer. After the installation supper was served in the church parlors.

M. T. Lamey has just received the appointment of Agent for the American Fire Insurance Co., which is an old and well known company, and will be glad to have the privilege of placing some of your insurance with them.

The Barrington Bank is now under the following management: E. R. Clark, President; C. H. Austin, Vice President; J. C. Plagge, Cashier. Directors, E. R. Clark, C. H. Austin, J. C. Plagge, M. B. McIntosh and H. C. P. Sandman.

The Metropolitan Accident Association settled the claims of C. A. Runyan and James Sizer, who met with accidents and carry insurance in this company. Although those claims were not large it shows the promptness of the company, as they were settled as soon as satisfactory proof was given.

On Thursday evening, Jan. 1st, about 43 members of the German Evangelical Church, met at the parsonage to surprise their pastor and family. All brought well filled baskets. Mr. Schusters was remembered with a fine black dress and a olush album. After partaking of some refreshments the evening was pleasantly spent in social conversation and singing, followed with a few remarks by the pastor and by Rev. H. Meier, after which all went to their respective homes.

A meeting was held at the Baptist Church Saturday evening by a number of young people foam Chicago with Messrs. Henry and Chapman. They also held their meeting Sunday and in the evening an invitation was extended to the Methodists is joined with them in worship; the meeting was good and helpful, some asked for prayers while others testified as to the goodness of God to them the past year, and their interest in seeing others saved. Another meeting by the same band will be held next Sunday; all come.
